Audioslave

Audioslave was formed by frontman Chris Cornell of Soungarden and also Temple of the Dog.  It included Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine as well as their drummer and bassist.

Morello and Cornell are both very good musicians, but there styles did not match and none of their songs really have the value of their original bands.

Cochise is really the only good song by them that I like.

The band was from 2001-2007, and they disbanded after a disagreement in musical style, which was for the better.

Hollywood Undead

Hollywood Undead is a more recent band than the others I've mentioned.  They have two albums out as it is, and are known for wearing their masks on stage, although they do remove them during concerts.

Hollywood Undead was made by Charlie Scene, Deuce, J-Dog, J3T, Da Kurlzzz, and Funny Man.  They first made a song entitled 'The Kids' which they put on MySpace.  'The Kids' gained lots of populatiry on MySpace, and it helped them get more famous.

The six band members produced an album entitled 'Swan Songs', but had a hard time publishing it because every record company wanted to censor the album and HU didn't want that.  Swan Songs is known for songs like Undead, No.5, Young, and My Black Dahlia.  This is my favorite album by HU because it has my favorite song by them: 'City'.

Conflict between Deuce and the other 5 members of HU soon sprouted up, and after a while - Deuce was kicked out of HU.  He went off to his secondary band, 'Nine Lives'.  The other five members let Danny into the band.  Danny was an American Idol contestant, although he failed to win the show.

The band, with new bandmate Danny, went off to create a new album.  I know a few songs on the album, but the only one I like is 'Been to Hell', cause it reminds me of 'Undead' off their first album.  I don't like any of the other songs, I don't really like Danny's voice.  I don't even know the name of the album.

Their songs always have rapping in them, and the instruments are either rock-based or more hip-hop-based.  Nevertheless, they're a rap-rock band.

My Favorites

My favorite song of all time is "The Ballad of Curtis Loew" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.  It tells the story of a kid who collects bottles and turns them in for money at a store, then gives the money to a man named Curtis who then buys alchohol and plays songs on a dobro.

My favorite album is probably Back in Black, because it has some of my favorite AC/DC songs on it.  I don't listen to AC/DC much, but Back in Black definetly has some good songs on it.  It's the first album with Brian Johnson in it.

My favorite artist is Red Hot Chili Peppers, because they have a lot of really good songs and I like all of them.

Rage Against the Machine

Rage Against the Machine is a rap-rock band that originated during the 1990's.  Lead Guitarist, Tom Morello, left his old band and visited a night-club, where he met lead singer Zack de la Rocha free-style rapping.  Impressed by his rap, and by his lyric book, Morello asked him to join.  Zack also suggested his long-time friend, who became the bassist, and Morello hired a friend of his, to be the drummer.  Zack's original hardcore-punk band had a song "Rage Against the Machine" and named the band after it.

Rage Against the Machine's name comes from Zack's original song.  'Machine' symbolizes the government, and rage means to rebel, so the name suggest 'rebel against the government'.  RATM was known for its political activism, and saw the US Government as corrupt and a lot of their songs suggest this.

Morello's guitar tabs and chords are very unique.  Morello uses a 'wah wah' type of effect, and he has unique sounds that he makes from his guitar.  Morello is one of the best guitarist of the 90's and probably rock music itself.  With Morello's amazing guitar, good basslines and good drums, paired with Zack's rap, RATM delivers a fully energetic experience.

The most known song by RATM is probably "Bulls on Parade", as it was featured on Guitar Hero III after a 'guitar battle' with Tom Morello.  Another song, "Killing in the Name of" is also on Guitar Hero II, but it's that great.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are a band that was popular in the 1990's, but have had success in the 2000's as well.  The Red Hot Chili Peppers were based in California, like many rock bands, but did not originate from there.  Their music is either fast rock sounds with funk mixed in with it and some fast vocals that resemble rap, and other times it is long drawn-out vocals that make up their song.

Lead singer Anthony Kiedis was known for his drug use at times, and he wrote a song "Under the Bridge" which explains it.  In the song, he mentions walking through Los Angeles and going under a bridge and 'draw some blood', which is referencing to his drug use.  He does not use drugs any longer, he stopped after his house burnt down.

I think if anyone knows who they are, they would know songs like "Dani California", "Scar Tissue", "Around the World", and my favorite RHCP song, "Under the Bridge".

Nirvana

Nirvana is a grunge band that originated in Seattle.  It was formed by frontman Kurt Cobain.  Kurt Cobain had a daughter with Courtney Love, and named her Fances Cobain.  Cobain eventually shot himself with a shotgun, however there is much debate as to whether he killed himself or if Courtney Love played a role in it, or someone else.

Nirvana's music is generally slow, with light vocals in it.  But sometimes, the songs are fast and loud.  Notable songs by Nirvana include "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Heart-Shaped Box", and "In Bloom".  Rapper Lil Wayne has stated that Nirvana was one of his favorite artists, and that he liked the song "Smells Like Teen Spirit", and has used "In Bloom" in some of his MTV ads.

Nirvana's most popular album, "Nevermind" turned twenty about a week or two ago, it came out in September of 1991.  "Nevermind" brought Nirvana into the mainstream and most other grunge-rock bands as well.

Other New Albums

As with Nickelback, many other artists are also releasing new alnums.

Current bands, such as Marilyn Manson, Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, and also Paramore are all coming out with new albums somtime between the coming months and next year.  Five Finger Deathpunch, Disturbed, and Nickelback have released singles already.  "Renegade" by Paramore is not released, but can still be found online.

Also, old bands such as Aerosmith, The Offspring, Anthrax, Metallica, and even AC/DC are coming out with new albums in the coming years.  AC/DC has released their "Black Ice" album a couple of years ago, and Aerosmith's frontman Steven Tyler has released his own album.  The Red Hot Chili Peppers released "The Adventures of Raindance Maggie" a few months ago.

New Nickelback Single, "Bottoms Up"

Nickelback has been around since about 1999.  They're a Canadian Rock band, but have some popularity in other parts of the world as well.

Nickelback is probably best known for their single "Rockstar" which came out years ago, and probably slightly less known for "If Everyone Cared".  These two singles probably brought them into the mainstream more than any other song.

Nickelback is currently working on their new album "Here and Now", to be released November 21 of this year.  Yesterday, on September 26, Nickelback released their newest single "Bottoms Up" to radio stations.  Today, September 27, is the release of the single on iTunes.  The song closely resembles that of "Burn it to the Ground", a song from their last album "Dark Horse".
